What started as an experiment has now become a passion.
After moving to Sydney in early 2010, getting a job didn’t seem too promising. So, with a few inspired words of support from friends, we reluctantly imported a 40ft container filled with Industrial furniture.
Not knowing what to expect, we took our chances. In September 2010, we arrived at a leading Trade Fair in Sydney with our sincere attempt at offering differentiated, quality, Industrial furniture to café & restaurant owners & Furniture retailers.
Like any (and every) new business, it takes a bit of luck, many sleepless nights, a lot of hard work, months and months of patience and a few kind individuals to get that first required break.
That break came in late 2011, when the promoters of a new age café situated in the warehouse district of Alexandria in Sydney, entrusted us to create a few customized Industrial pieces (Industrial Coffee Counters, Cast Iron Communal Tables, Outdoor Chairs, Display Trolleys and Carts) for their project.
We delivered. A Sydney Icon, The Grounds of Alexandria, was born. And that also began the mark of our journey.
It has been a fulfilling journey so far.
From our first big commercial break with The Grounds of Alexandria to Locomotive (a beautiful, quaint café and diner in Darlinghurst, NSW), we have worked on various size projects and continue to contribute and be an integral part in supporting the Industrial Furniture Design revolution in Australia.
Crank Furniture’s client base has expanded since 2011. We work with Interior Design firms as well as directly with venue owners. Our client list includes reputed names like Westfield, Solotel, Merivale, The Grounds of Alexandria, Zeus, Guzman Y Gomez, Parlour Group, Mona Vale Hotel, Qantas Catering, Warner Bros, HIP Media, Hurricane’s Grill, Elston Venues, Greencliff Realty, Raw Group, The Loose Moose, The Pony Dining Group and many more.
In 2014, Crank Furniture ventured to USA with its first Commercial Project, Meat District Co, Los Angeles.
Our International clients have trusted us to create beautiful furniture for their venues in U.K., Sweden, Nederlands, France, Dubai and South Africa.
And as boundaries of our world grow smaller, our client list keeps expanding worldwide.

Bhola foundation – Our contribution to society
Our workforce staff at our factory is approx.. 220 hard-working and talented individuals that create all our beautiful pieces of furniture.
Bhola Foundation is our fund to provide quality education to all children of our staff members for free.
1% of our turnover is allocated to fund this venture.
Currently, Bhola Foundation supports 53 children aged between 5 and 16 years, providing them with free education in private schools, school uniform and textbooks as well as free healthcare if required.
As our customer, you are indirectly contributing to this noble cause.
