Crank Furniture, an Australian Company, owes its foundation to our family’s patriarch, Ramji Savla, who in 1952, travelled to Mumbai (then Bombay) as a 12 year old from a remote village in Kutch (a province in India).
Over 50 years, what started as a wholesale shop of onions, potatoes, garlic and coconut in Mumbai, has evolved into a tightly held 3 generation family business of fashion, department stores, jewelry retail, cold storage, warehousing and distribution, furniture, property development, shopping malls and super-markets.
